Adult Therapy

Therapy can be a tough journey to start. My primary goal with therapy is to provide a space that is accepting, calm, and helpful. Each person is unique which means finding out what creates this space for each individual is different. At the first session, my main objective is to get to know you as a person and learn more about what brought you to therapy.

I have worked with many adults on various concerns such as ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Suicidal Ideation/Self-Harm, Relationship Struggles, Life Transitions, and Stress Management. I utilize a person centered approach that focuses on patience, understanding and thoughtful reflection while also helping clients build skills using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Executive Functioning Support Skills, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

What to expect from therapy

Our first meeting will be an intake session where we will review paperwork, discuss confidentiality, and learn more about you, what brought you to therapy, and what you would like to get out of therapy. The intake is also a great opportunity for you to see if I am a good fit for you and for me to answer any questions. Once we have met for about 3 to 4 sessions I will discuss a treatment plan for you that will help guide our work toward reaching your goals.

Treatment plans are specific to each client based on client need and expectations. A client’s treatment plan will be reviewed frequently with the client to help me assess for progress toward treatment goals. In addition, I always welcome any feedback or questions clients may have about the ongoing therapy process.
